Insulation Fire At Bloomer Hospital Administration Wing

The Bloomer Fire Department responded to a fire at Mayo Clinic Health System-Chippewa Valley in Bloomer’s Blue Diamond building Friday, Nov. 29 at 11:45 a.m. The Blue Diamond building contains administration and offices, but as a precaution, 12 patients were relocated to the nearby nursing home. The fire was caused when insulation ignited during soldering near the ceiling. Firefighters cut through the roof to get at the insulation.
