SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI — A fire that Saginaw Township firefighters extinguished early Thursday, Dec. 5, rekindled, bringing firefighters back to put it out again this afternoon.
The Saginaw Township Fire Department was first called to the home about 7:40 a.m. Thursday to put out a fire in the attic. Crews were called back at 1:23 p.m. the same day.
Firefighters removed blown-in paper insulation from the home during both trips to the home.
The house was under renovation at the time of the blaze, Saginaw Township Fire Department Assistant Chief George Pike said, and firefighters had to access the attic through an interior ceiling to remove some smoldering insulation.
After the first response to the home, Pike estimated damage at about $7,500.
