CHICAGO, IL (DECEMBER 6, 2013) – Green Energy Improvement, an energy efficiency home performance company, is proud to announce that they have doubled the size of their office space within the Green Exchange. Located in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood, the nation’s largest green business community is home to over 20 businesses that share the same eco-friendly view. Since moving into the building in July 2012, Green Energy Improvement has doubled its staff.
Green Energy Improvement opened in 2009, with a goal to help homeowners to improve energy efficiency in their homes by providing retrofitting, energy assessments, air sealing, insulation, and other services. The business provides home upgrades that reduce air leakage, reducing customers’ energy bills by 20-40%. They also work with local gas companies such as North Shore Gas, Nicor Gas, and Peoples Gas to provide rebates allowing homeowners to make these insulation upgrades, ultimately saving on utility bills and making homes more comfortable, safer, and sustainable. These homes then earn an Illinois Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® certification, ultimately increasing in value.
Known as the hub of the green economy in the Midwest, Green Exchange is dedicated to helping up and coming environmentally friendly businesses become more prominent in the green community. Green Exchange has recently become LEED Platinum Certified, established by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and verified by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). Green Exchange is also a proud recipient of the 2013 Outstanding For-Profit Neighborhood Real Estate Project for evolving the historical building into a revitalized, successful business center.
“We are grateful of the Green Exchange for our new accommodations,” says Bonita Marx, founder and owner of Green Energy Improvement. “Their ability to offer us this high-profile space is phenomenal for our visibility within the sustainable community.” Bonita Marx has owned and operated several real estate, renovation, financing, and design businesses throughout the past three decades. She is committed to helping homeowners save money and enjoy greater comfort by assisting them in retrofitting and air-sealing their homes.
