Since hot air rises, the heated air in your house will rise and escape from your house through any leaks in the attic. There tends to be more leaks in attics since that is a point in the house where so many different things are coming together there are often gaps.
Don’t forget to insulate
When looking to update the efficiency of your home, the attic is always a good place to start. Sealing any leaks in the attic is a must, but along with that you need to update the insulation in the attic. Upgrading insulation won’t be enough, the air will still be able to leak out. This means both sealing and insulation need to be done in order to really improve the energy efficiency of your home.
